Wood & panel processing

Store Fixture manufacturer located in northeast Philadelphia seeking mechanically inclined individuals for machine operators for the woodworking industry (Panel Saw/Edgebander/CNC). Qualified candidates must be self-motivated, detailed oriented with basic knowledge of wood processing. Applicants must have no restrictions lifting parts daily. Dependable with a positive attitude on achieving daily goals under direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Machine parts according to drawings and specifications provided

  • Interface with basic machine controller(s) and edit code accordingly for correct tooling based on part specifications

  • Change tooling on machines as needed as well as adjust setups

  • Plan and complete daily and routine preventative maintenance on machine assigned

  • Assure work area and aisles surrounding machine are kept clean and free of debris

  • Monitor production runs and part quantities produced and properly label all outgoing parts from assigned work cell

  • Assist in training of new department employees

Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Windows

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and familiar with metric system

  • Has ability to quality control parts for accuracy using a digital caliper and measuring tape

    • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards and policies.

    • Keeps equipment operating safely by following instructions and established procedures.

  • Display a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks

  • Demonstrate ability to follow instructions from manufacturing supervisor and team leaders

  • No restrictions working within an environment with exposure to noise, dust and seasonal climate changes.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance and able to stand for extended periods of time

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-2 years related industrial experience

  • A pre-employment screen is required upon hire
